Cartagena: South American Exit

  • Cartagena, Colombia
I get uncomfortable walking under Colombian building scaffolding held up by a man with a rope in his hands.

My Beatles mock shirt. We made the whole trip. It was close though. I Incredible Hulk ripped it off my body. That made me feel cool.

My last day on the beach. See you later Caribbean Colombia.

    It has been a blast.

Awesome mega rad shoes, retired from my feet. I left them on a street corner, and they were gone a few hours later. I hope someone is enjoying their awesomeness.

Cartagena: South American Exit.
August 12.

For days Marc and I have been talking about how we do not get hungover from Club Colombia beer because it is not very strong.  Today was a different day.  We had plans to go to Playa Blanca today, but I was too hungover and tired to be able to get out of bed at 8:30am.  When I opened my eyes again it was 11am.  Club Colombia cervesa finally got me.

We had a lazy one and went to the beach in the city for the day.  My last Caribbean waters for some time.  My last tropical ocean for some time.  I will miss it here.  On the walk to the beach I had to lip off a scumbag drug dealer who would not leave us alone, walking with us trying to sell us anything he could.  Maybe I will not miss everything.  I just wish I could taser all of the drug dealers who approach me.  Just enough taser that says, “Hey scumbag, not every gringo is here to fill himself with blow.  You are ruining my time in this city.  This should ruin your day.  Try to make a selection process next time, and not just target every person with white skin.”  Zapppp!!

Marc and I went for lunch, and I got into a taxi and headed for the airport.  It sure was nice to have a buddy with me from a while.  That was a really nice way to finish my time here.  Awesome!  Thanks Marc.

Ciao South America.  I had a blast with you.  It is time to go though.  I can feel it in me.

I caught a flight to Bogota that was highlighted when I caught a stewardess with her birth control pills in her hand taking her daily dose.  It was just so beautifully unprofessional to see her to do that.  When my plane in Bogota left the ground, I had touched South America for the last time.  I was not upset but I will miss the continent and beautiful Latin women.  However, I am in need of regular intelligence in conversations from every person I meet. I miss things like banter with the guy behind the counter in the grocery store that I can not receive in South America because my Spanish is too lousy to be able to tease people everywhere I go.

I just need a small break, and more language skills!  And now a job.  Hmmm…  Yuck…
