The day was a bit of a sleeper that dragged into 3pm before our world showed signs of life. Carnaval is a exhausting when you live it ‘full blast.’ So, we just kind of licked our wounds today and I made this video of ‘Scottie, Sloth and the Cross-Dressers.’ We found out that the samba school coordinator was really happy with our performance in the parade. That is great news. No one else had gringos, and we were a hit. I hope they climb tiers for next years parade!
We had spent the whole day at the house, not really doing anything, and I felt like it was a bit of a wasted day. So, at 11:30pm when we were thinking on going to bed, the samba sound lured me. So, Csilla, Cash, Irmante and I went to the closest bar to our place where Carnaval shenanigans taking place. Well, what we found when we were up there was very loud music was playing. The song lyrics in Portuguese were, “I want ass, ass, ass, ass…” When got to the street, two little girls, aged about 3 and 4 were sex dancing to the music. They were grinding to the ground to the music. Little little girls. Nearly babies… It was disturbing.
We had one beer and came home. Rest is of necessity.
This is the Rio Carnaval Block Party Listings: Rio de Janeiro, just for yesterday, 3 March 2014. Every day looks like this. These are the street parties and the first box is the times that they start. The last box is the attendance expected. Those numbers are so huge. And that was just one day of listing. One day! The list starts with at least two parties a day on Feb 8th and escalates to this a month later. Really…. A brain has to see it. It can not even be imagined… It is just huge and crazy…
